Overview
AppEDGE was approached by a client with a unique challenge: to create a web application that would help travellers identify the destinations that offer the best value for their home currency. The client wanted the app to be user-friendly and provide detailed information that would aid in the decision-making process.
Challenges
The primary challenge in this project was to collect and analyse a large amount of currency data from the past 10 years. The data needed to be accurate and up-to-date in order to provide relevant information to the users. Additionally, the team needed to find a way to present the data in a user-friendly and easy-to-understand format.
Solution
To overcome these challenges, AppEDGE decided to use a currency API to import the required data. The API provided access to accurate and up-to-date currency exchange rates from the past 10 years. The team then used this data to create an algorithm that would analyse the data and generate a list of countries that are currently cheaper to travel to than they have been in the past decade.
The web application was designed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate. The main page features a simple form that allows the user to input their home currency. Once the user submits the form, the app generates a list of countries that offer the best value for their home currency. Each country on the list is accompanied by a trend analysis that shows the change in exchange rate over time. The user can also click on each country to view a travel guide that provides more detailed information about the destination.
Result
The web application developed by AppEDGE has been well received. The use of a currency API to import and analyse the data has ensured that the information provided by the app is accurate and up-to-date. The user-friendly design and easy-to-understand format have made it easy for travellers to find the destinations that offer the best value for their home currency.
In conclusion, AppEDGE was able to successfully meet the unique challenge presented by the client by utilising a currency API to import and analyse data and developing a user-friendly web application that presents the data in an easy-to-understand format.
